AD: This post is a collaboration. As such I have received a fee to create this post but all words and opinions are my own.
Have you ever wanted to change up your look without feeling it’s a permanent fixture? Throughout my life I have bleached, chopped, coloured, curled and straightened my hair pretty regularly in order to achieve different looks. I’ve gone from short blunt bobs to adding extensions to satisfy my need for long luxurious hair, only to find I get a bit fed up of the upkeep when it comes to caring for them. Yes, it’s true, hair extensions can be such a big commitment that certainly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. So what other way can we achieve variation to our noddies without feeling too much of a burden? Enter wigs.
Whether you’re wanting to play redhead for the day or perhaps wondering if blonde’s really do have more fun, then you could try your hand at wigs. I’m not talking about the type of wig you wear for a halloween costume, but the high quality, human hair, lace front wigs that you see in adverts (without even recognising them). Here are a few tips to consider if you’re going to head down the route of wigs.
Synthetic or Remy?
It’s a easy choice for me, always go real. HOWEVER, it can come with a price tag. Be conscious that with some synthetic hair you can style, others you can’t. Synthetic won’t last you as long, BUT can save you a lot of money. Remy wigs will remain in good condition providing you care for it with the appropriate heat protection.
Invest in a Mannequin Head
Want to keep your wig in top shape? Then invest in a mannequin head to place it on when not in use. It will make it easier for you to detangle it and stop it from becoming muddled. Care for your wig.
Consider Cap Size
Follow the instructions on your chosen wig website to measure your head to ensure it will fit and look great!
If you have any more tips, I’d love to hear them.
