Is it too early to be thinking about autumn yet? It feels like the sunny days are becoming fewer and fewer, and there are definitely a few fallen leaves starting to appear on the pavements around Hull. While we’re definitely not quite out of summer yet, autumn is undoubtedly on it’s way! Here are some of the things to really look forward to:
-
The return of term time
If you’re a parent, especially a parent that works from home (or if you are a freelancer, or any kind of self employed), the chances are you’ve been putting on an immense juggling act over the past few months. Parenting is rewarding and amazing, but it’s also incredibly hard, and it’s even harder when you have kids to entertain while you work over the summer holidays! Thankfully, for many of us, autumn means the return to school and nursery, and the return of some kind of routine.
-
Autumn colours and crunchy leaves under foot
Going for a walk or a drive in the autumn can be one of the most wonderful things – the colours of nature are changing and it’s always a really pretty thing to experience. Going for a walk in autumn is always lovely, especially when you have kids. Every step is a sensory experience as you feel the leaves crunching under your feet and you pick conkers out of their spikey shells!
-
Cosy vibes
While pumpkin spice may be a little overrated (just me?), the general cosy vibes that come with the whole autumn season are definitely not. Being able to get all the chunky knitwear out of storage, baking warming carrot cakes, drinking hot chocolates, and getting the fire lit are all some of the small every day joys of the season!
Tell me, what are you most looking forward to about autumn?
