Many of us will be working up until Christmas, and when we finally clock off we can struggle to truly get into the Christmas spirit in the short time before the big day. If this sounds like you, there are some really easy things you can do to help you get in the festive spirit, even if you’ve only got a day or two to amp up the excitement!

Ice skating
This one definitely isn’t for everyone, but if you have kids it can be a really fun thing to try. Get everyone wrapped up warm and find your nearest place to don ice skates and hit the ice. Throughout November and December, many big cities have pop up ice rinks that are part of Christmas fayres and markets, so there are usually more locations to choose from than there are throughout the rest of the year.
Watching your kids and other loved ones slip and slide around on the ice can be incredibly magical, and it can be a fairly inexpensive activity too which is a bonus!

Gingerbread construction kids
There is no doubt that festive baking is an amazing way to get into the Chritmas spirit, but if you don’t have the time to go into full on baking mode, think about getting a gingerbread construction kit from the supermarket. These usually only cost a couple of pounds and they can be amazing fun to put together whether you have kids or not – pop on some of your favourite Christmas music and get cracking. Once you’ve finished constructing and decorating your house, it makes a great decoration until you’re ready to eat it!

Christmas movie night
All streaming services are bursting with Christmas movies – the classics, some questionable Hallmark movies, and festive new releases. Cosy up under a pile of blankets with your favourite snacks and pick a couple of movies to watch to help get you into Christmas mode!

Flowers
Whether you have had time to go all out with decorating your home for Christmas or not, a bunch of Christmassy flowers can bring some extra festive joy to any household. Visit your local florist and see what they have made up already, or pop to a supermarket and see if you can put together your own festive bouquet to display in your home using the components available to you. Reds, greens, berries, and twigs are always a great start when it comes to festive florals!
