Hello my lovelies and apologies for the silence this week. With Christmas coming up it’s been a busy time for all and I’ve been extremely neglectful of my blog. I’ve got a great outfit for you today featuring a Mac Coat and I’ll make sure I get a travel piece out before Christmas time.
I’m back and with a beautiful piece for you from the Elvi Transitional collection. For those who haven’t had this drop onto their instagram feeds, many beautiful bloggers have been demonstrating the stunning pieces in the collection including this pinstripe co-ord worked perfectly by Danielle Vanier. Oh and what do you know, as I’m writing this piece, one of my FAVOURITE all time bloggers Em, just posted a piece on Alternative Glamour with Elvi. Oh Em, that’s the top I ummed and ahhed over for a bit, you’ve got me green eyed.
So back to me, Elvi asked if I’d like to check out a piece from their collection I was drawn to this Mac after 20 or so minutes drooling over their other pieces.
Mac: Elvi*
Roll Neck Jumper: New Look
Jeggings: Matalan (old)
Ankle Boots: New Look (old)
Firstly, take a moment to appreciate the colours and patterns on this. This is totally my thing, the muted tones and aztec style prints… I’m in love. Add this to the fact I needed a new coat and I was sold. The Mac arrived in speedy time and I was not disappointed. Although thinner material then my current winter coat (a large puffer coat so no wonder) I’m really surprised with how warm it is. Probably due to the corse material it’s made out of (strong stuff pals). I took it for a test drive on a chilly Saturday morning and didn’t find I was cold at any point- so it’s passed my test.
There are many wonderful things about this coat, one being the material, another the length (Can I get a hell yeah for us tall girls?!). But one thing I REALLY like about this coat is the tie waist. A leather tie that just secured the coat nicely in place. I’m wearing a size 16 here and I’d say it’s true to size, it fits me like a glove. No Shrinking Violet
I wore all black with it, (basically what I live in) but I’m pretty sure it would look great with some blue jeans and grey jumpers (high necks especially). I’m looking forward to experimenting with this item to be honest! I felt with the texture and patterns within the mac it was best to keep things simple. No Shrinking Violet
I paired it with my old Tesco black bag (I bought this for about a fiver, seriously in last years sale). Oh and of course, as it’s a little wintery now and the air is chilly, my hands are too. I picked up these Jasper Conran Gloves in the boxing day sales. Maybe something you should keep an eye out for if you’re looking for something similar. I’ve had plenty of use out of them.
*Denotes gifted item, all opinions/words are my own.
What a cool coat. I love the colors of the stripes.
