As the UK has been having one of it’s biggest heatwaves yet, we’re all wondering how to keep cool and stylish in this extreme weather. As the heatwave hit at the same time as my summer holiday to Canada I went from one heat to the next. Toronto being a big city has both the heat, sun and humidity. It’s hard to keep the ‘cool’ vibes look when you’re looking mighty sweaty having walked the entire length of the city.
Simply Be have been one of my favourites for picking up Summer City Break looks and this year has been no exception.
Look 1: The Culotte Jumpsuit
Jumpsuit: Simply Be*
One of my main priorities when travelling in a hot climate or in a city is that I don’t chafe. Y’all know I hate the burning together of thighs. That’s why a lot of my wardrobe for cities involves culottes/leggings or my handy chafing shorts underneath. This fabulous jumpsuit from Simply Be (also available in other patterns) is cool, comfortable and fashionable. I first spotted it on my pal Jess and since then I was converted. Pass me a cooling, culotte jumpsuit for the hot days.
Look 2: The Gold Dress
Dress: Simply Be*
I always want one ‘WOW’ piece in my wardrobe for a holiday, after all, it’s the perfect excuse to dress up. This Joanna Hope Dress by Simply Be is spot on my style. Vintage, with a beautiful fabric it’s perfect for donning a fancy schmancy meal out or just strutting around in (why not?) I love the bow detail tie around the neck and the length, (THE LENGTH!) of this dress. It nips in at the waist just in the right spot and don’t you think it looks lovely next to the lake?
Look 3: The Pom Pom Dress
Dress: Simply Be*
You may recognise this dress from a previous post. I loved it so much I had to have it in a different colour. Completely versatile for city walk or beach, this flowy, quirky dress is a must for your holiday trip. I teamed it with both birkenstock and heels and found it worked both ways. The pom-pom detail will be a favourite of mine for Summer trends. Add to the fact this dress is the most beautiful teal colour and you’re in for a win.
