Hey chucks, how were your weekends? Whilst I largely spent my weekend exploring my home town and eating, I did so in a fantastic pair of boots. Jilsen kindly gifted me some expertly fitted boots and I thought it fitting (oh the puns..) to share what I’ve discovered about the search for the perfect boot.

Calf Measurement is a thing
Did you know that there are actually companies that cater to us gals with wider calves? Jilsen cater up to calf size 52cm (I’m a 40cm if this means anything to you). What this means is that for us gals who often end up suffering the pain of not buying the boots for fear of them ill fitting, you can find the perfect fit.

Look for Half Measurements
I’m a bit of an odd bod when it comes to shoes. I have big legs really, and size 8 feet. But if I go for wide fit I often find the 8 is too big and a 7 too small. I picked up this pair in a 7.5 and the fit is pretty much perfect. I will be keeping an eye out of half measurements when opting for a wide fit from now on.
Heel Height is Everything
Fortunately for us, we live in a world where heel heights are so varied that they cater for us all. I own totally flat boots, but find after a day of wear I can get a sore back. Is this a thing? Maybe it’s something about my arch not being fully supported, back folks… hit me up in the comments with reasoning. I like a little bit of heel usually, but like occasionally to go out there with a corker and resume gigantic status. I do love an amazon woman.

The Short Legs/Long Legs debate
In my research for the perfect boot I came across article after article discussing which boots suit body shapes and etc etc. I mean personally, I feel if you like the boot, wear it. But there were handy tips such as using a block heel to elongate your legs or picking different ‘noses’ to boots to make your feet look smaller. I say embrace the big feet and showcase your lovely legs.
Have you found your perfect pair of boots yet? If so lemme know where.
