*This post is a collaboration all about lighting. However, all words and opinions are my own.
Winter time eh? When the light fades by 3pm and you’re left reaching for the on switches on all of your indoor and outdoor lights to give your inner self a little twinkle. Thankfully for us, the darker months coincide with Christmas time. We’re blessed to see beautiful Christmas decorations and festive lights around streets and town centres. It’s kinda a tradition of mine and Joe’s to take one long drive every year to get a proper viewing of all of these beautiful lights and get inspiration for our own home.
Outdoor Lighting
Your outdoor lighting doesn’t have to be boring. You can get stylish outdoor led lighting easily nowadays giving us all the option to decorate our exteriors as beautifully as the inner part of our homes. I have some stellar outdoor simple LED lights that showcase the front of my house (and therefore give better light to my decorations HELLO WREATH).
Whilst we may spend most of our time inside, I love to have a well lit path on a winter’s eve to tread up back to my home. So it really is important you take the time to assess your outdoor lighting requirements.
I say prioritise – lighting for pathways, lighting for key areas (patios), lights for garage access or parking.
Indoor Lighting
Well of course, we have the tree. I also like to scatter different fairy lights across my home to really get into the spirit. I place all of these lights in the darker corners and nooks across my home to cosy them up. One of my favourites is actually in my son’s room. He has a small Christmas tree light that just makes his room feel all cosy and warm.
I say prioritise lights for snug areas, creating a cosy atmosphere and setting the mood with lighting.
How do you feel about lights in and around your home? Do you think you’ve done it justice?
