Hello and welcome back to another blog. If you’re new around here, you may or may not know I do this thing full time. If you’re an oldie (but goodie) and remember my announcement last year, then let me remind you that I made the statement to the whole world (or my mum who follows me on instagram) that I was going freelance. I had fantastic reasons for it, and I also recognised all of the disadvantages. Yet, here I am, one whole year on and in a reasonably good place. Okay, Covid knocked me a bit this year, but who wasn’t impacted in some way in their career via this pandemic? I’m lucky to still be getting work and forever thankful for that. So what’s happened in a year? Here are just a few things that come to mind.
- I worked with some INCREDIBLE brands and felt really good about it
- I reinstated a new level of self-confidence
- I went for it and had another baby
- I hosted a ridiculously incredible dream trip to Italy
- I did my first tax return (ooooooooo scary)
- I challenged myself more than ever, and got incredibly creative with new outlets
- I formed new friendships that changed my whole outlook on this career
- I hosted a seminar on how to get confident in front of the camera
- I started a new hashtag #smalleverydayjoy
….Oh and ultimately, thanked my lucky stars for having the guts to commit to doing this a year ago.
It can be an extremely scary thing and I’ll be the first to admit that there can be moments that pull you down a little when you’re freelance but boy are the HIGHS good. I’m so proud of myself for this year and can’t wait to tackle next year.
Violet x
