It’s been a whole year since Lockdown began and what do we have to show from it? Well I thought I’d put fingers to keypad and summarise what I think are 5 positive things to have come out of a full year of lockdown. Read on to find out more.
Lockdown Community spirit
I think we’ve all felt it. There has been a huge increase in community spirit. Whether you helped out a neighbour or checked in on a friend. It’s been there and I’m ever so thankful for it.
#smalleverydayjoy
I started the hashtag smalleverydayjoy in the Summer of last year. I was at one of the lowest times of my life and this hashtag really helps me see positives in the everyday. It was a way to look for the small glimpses of hope. The little bits of happiness in every day ordinary life and I’ll always be happy I started this.
Time to reflect
I for one did a lot of learning and unlearning this year. Having the focus shift onto important matters instead of everyday media drama was a huge necessary change. I hope you too took on some exercises and undertook important conversations in your life.
Reduction in pollution
You may remember seeing dolphins in the Venetian Lagoon. Well, with less commuting, limited air travel and alike, we’ve seen a reduction in pollution which has lead to clearer and waters. I’m not saying it’s been perfect but it’s been better than the years before.
Focus on key workers
Whether or not you clapped on your doorstep, I’m sure we can all attest to how much we bloody love the NHS. Key workers also included the teachers & supermarket workers and more. I know I’m not cut out for homeschooling 😂.
What has been your positive to come out of the past year?
