Dating is defined as “Dating is a stage of romantic relationships practised in Western societies whereby two people meet socially with the aim of each assessing the other’s suitability as a prospective partner in a future intimate relationship” – Wikipedia. It sounds so scientific doesn’t it? So… plain. In reality, dating can be SO much fun. I actually think dating continues all the way into marriage. You find new ways to explore each other’s personalities via experiences and in turn, you learn more about each other’s limits and abilities. I hope to continue to love dating, and with that in mind, here are 10 date ideas for online and in person dating.
1. Take the boredom away with a board game
One of the best ways to get to know someone’s personality is to test them in a board game. Personally, I’m a sore loser. My husband is a show off winner… but somehow… it works.
2. Test new heights with rock climbing
Have you seen all these brilliant rock climbing centres popping up? Why not try one! You can work together to get to the top and it provides a challenge for you both to undertake. If you’re a little shy or nervous, this could be a great distraction from direct eye contact!
3. Try a Beach Day
If either of you are into the outdoors, it could be great to try exploring a new beach location. Whether it has rock pools or fossils, they’re lovely places to get out to. Hey, if the date sucks, at least the scenery was good.
4. Go Online
When it comes to match dating or online dating, there are now heaps of ways to get to know each other on a virtual level that doesn’t even require leaving the house. Ever seen Ready, Player One? Imagine that.
5. Explore a new City
Fancy trying out a new city or playing tourist in a new location? With Shropshire dating, you could try a new meeting new people in a new area. Everyone loves to play tourist.
6. Rent a Bike and go!
Have you seen those really cute film scenes where the main characters explore a park on a tandem? Yeah well, avoid the tandem and get a bike each. You can both explore a park and get some fresh air.
7. Go to an outdoor movie theatre
Oh how I wish there were more drive in movie theatres. It all feels very Grease, and I love it.
8. Participate in Live theatre
Did you know you can actually play along with lots of live theatre? From a few quick google searches you could both be acting in your next murder mystery party. It’s loads of fun and you get to dress up.
9. Paint something together
Sounds cheesy, actually loads of fun. Get creative and messy and create a beautiful masterpiece together… or you know, draw stick people versions of each other.
10. Go to a Live Comedy night
This is a great way to get to know each other’s sense of humour and it’ll pass a few hours without any awkward silence. It’s a huge yes from me.
Which of these dates would you most like to go on?
