We all want to feel confident and comfortable in our swimwear, but with more onus being placed on sustainable choices it begs the question, ‘is there sustainable swimwear out there’? If so what does it look and feel like? We know swimwear is often made of synthetic fibres and can feel a bit ‘cheap’ but if it were made of sustainable products would there be a way to make it feel nice? When Deakin & Blue offered to send me a swimsuit for a trip I had coming up I was desperate to try.

Deakin & Blue are a company looking to revolutionise swimwear. From their website it states that they are ‘combining fabrics made from regenerated ocean waste, revolutionary production methods and a ground-breaking sizing system, to produce a set of garments showcased on a range of body shapes and sizes. You could say it’s a swimwear revolution’. Not only are they making sure that the products are manufactured in an ethical way, but they’re also being highly inclusive. Their clothing goes up to a size 24 and a HH bust.
The swimsuits aren’t just in boring colours either. Bright reds, teal colours and even the odd print can be chosen to ensure that you really make the most out of your chosen beach day.
I know you’re all wondering about the cost, and sure, you could pop to a supermarket and pick up a swimsuit for a cheaper cost. However, the sustainability element and the quality of the products is not to be overlooked. This company really CARE about what they’re doing and how they’re approaching the topic.
I can’t wait to wear mine again when the weather picks up next year (or is this just the perfect excuse for a spa day?)
Would you consider buying sustainable swimwear?
