A calendar is one of those things that you don’t realise just how useful it is until you don’t have one handy! Get a desk calendar so you can always see the date and the layout of the rest of the month. When you’re organising when to post things, and scheduling the occasional meeting, it makes life so much easier having one right in front of you.

Reliable internet
Sometimes you might just about get away with writing a blog with no internet, but when it comes to formatting, scheduling, and researching, it really is impossible to be a blogger without internet. It’s incredibly frustrating trying to post blogs on un unstable internet connection, so choose your provider wisely!

A handy notebook
Having a notebook with you at all times is a must when you’re a blogger. Whether you keep a physical notebook with you at all times, or always have the notes app handy on your phone, you should have easy access to somewhere you can write down thoughts and inspiration as soon as they come to you!

A comfortable working space
A comfy working space will make a world of difference to both your content and your wellbeing! If you’re happy and comfortable in your surroundings then you’re so much more likely to work more productively, and produce better content. Wherever you work, make sure you’ve got things around you that make you happy!

Plants
Adding a bit of green into the work space never did anyone any harm. Having a plant or two on your desk, shelf, window ledge, or floor will add a bit of zen to your days. If you’re not great at remembering to water them, then get yourself something like a cactus or a succulent, or even a fake plant!

Something to keep your workspace smelling great
Candles, incense, wax melts, or diffusers. Whatever floats your boat, having a nice smelling space to work in will contribute to that all-important productivity and get the endorphins flowing too!

A supply of your favourite caffeinated beverages
Having a big bottle or jug of water on your desk is a great idea, and so is keeping your cup of tea topped up throughout the day. Starting your working day off with a cup of tea or coffee will help get you into the groove of what you’re doing, and keep you going!

Somewhere with good lighting
Chances are, if you’re a blogger you’ll be taking photos every now and again for the blog. Have a couple of go-to spots with great lighting and backgrounds – both in your work space and out in the big wide world! This way, if you need to take a photo on short notice, you’ll have a few options of where to do it already lined up and won’t have to spend any time thinking about it!

Planners
Planners are incredibly useful for planning content. Making sure you’ve spread out your blog and social media content can get a bit foggy if you’re trying to keep track of it all in your head, so get a planner and write it out clearly. There are loads of free downloadable planner pages to use on your phone, tablet, or computer if you don’t fancy paper and pen!

People to bounce ideas off
Many bloggers are freelancers, and the freelance life can be a little bit lonely sometimes. Find yourself like minded people to chat to, meet up with, and bounce ideas off. There are loads of great Facebook groups and Instagram communities of bloggers and other freelancers, so explore them and see who you meet!
