In recent years, slow autumn fashion has really taken off which is amazing for our wallets, the environment, and our wardrobes! It’s at the changing of the season when most of us start looking through the seasonal clothes we have stashed away from last year, but often we want to indulge in a couple of new things to switch up the new season’s wardrobe.
Thankfully, the rise of slow fashion has made this a fairly easy thing to do! While the original selling sites and apps like eBay are still going pretty strong, new and more focussed buying and selling apps have definitely taken the lead in recent years, with platforms like Vinted and Depop leading the way for many of us. It’s now a simple process to type in a few criteria, and find all kinds of clothing to suit our needs, no matter how niche. As most of the clothing listed is preloved, it often comes with a very manageable price tag, too – certainly much more affordable than hitting the high street for something brand new.
Buying new, seasonal items of clothing via apps is easy – but what about selling? Thankfully, selling is almost as easy as buying, and it’s pretty fun when you get into it too! Listing outgrown or no longer loved dresses, jumpsuits, and coats, has never been easier, and you’ll be able to save up a few pennies in the process too. When you get the hang of it, you’ll find that some homeware and toys sell very well on these apps too, so you can go wild with the decluttering process!
This whole buying and selling process means that it’s never been easier to keep a wardrobe fresh and totally up to date with your latest style. It’s a very sustainable way of shopping, and a lot can be said for the circular economy that your money then feeds into – it’s fantastic all round.
