North Wales is a great holiday spot for the whole family if you love being outdoors and getting up to all kinds of activities. If you are more of a city lover that is drawn to the bright lights and hustle and bustle of shops, museums, and galleries then this one might not be for you! Most of North Wales is on the edge of the countryside, and you never have to go very far to find either some mountains, the sea, or both!
The question is, what is there to actually do in North Wales?

North Wales is jam packed full of walking routes. Whether your family are seasoned hikers or you just like to amble around picturesque towns and villages, there are walks to suit you and your needs. For families that love a good hike, the obvious route to consider is Mt Snowdon which can easily be tackled by older kids and teens when following the easier routes up the mountain. For easy strolls, there are countless beaches with beautiful promenades to explore – try Llandudno, Harlech, or Portmeirion!

Adventure Activities
There are some wonderful places in North Wales when it comes to adventure activities, perfect for any families looking for a bit of adrenaline. The most well known and highly regarded activity centre is probably Zip World in Llechwedd, which isn’t far from the city of Bangor. Here, you can find an underground mine which has been converted into an amazing trampoline park, whole series of long zip lines across forests, and even an underground golf course.

Heritage sites
Wales has the most amazing culture, which to many, is surprisingly different from English culture. There are countless Welsh castles to be explored, as well as country houses and magnificent gardens. One of North Wales’ most famous castles is undoubtedly Caernarvon Castle, but others such as Conwy and Harlech are also well worth a visit.
