When it comes to jewellery, I believe we all choose individual and meaningful pieces. Either those that suit our personality or style. We look for pieces that inspire us like Antique Necklaces, or those can will become a staple classic that we can wear time and time again. Whilst I grew up watching my mum explore her jewellery collection, always going for brighter coloured gems, I realised that my personal preference was something quite different. Since purchasing my own jewellery I’ve found I go for simplistic jewellery over extravagant on the regular. I opt for plain chained necklaces, simplistic gold stacking rings or small hoops in my ears. I just find this makes me feel comfortable and confident. So where do you start when trying to find the perfect jewellery for you?
Choosing your style
I think the first thing to do is assess what type of style you like. You can find some ideas over on Pinterest with a quick search. I start by looking for items that I think I might be interested in like stacked ears, and go from there. You’ll find tonnes of ideas and pins that will soon have you figuring out exactly what your style is. The best part? You might have a number of different styles you love!
Choosing your colour
When it comes to colour ways, I like to mix and match a bit. I usually go for gold, probably because that’s what I navigate to the most. However I do have some silver and rose gold pieces that I really love to. You could try a few small items and see which you prefer and which goes with your tones. You might want to go the complete opposite and clash bright colours together, the choice is yours!
Choosing the items
Now comes the fun part, searching for the items. Whether you’re looking to find the perfect teardrop ring or small huggies, google can be your best friend. I’ve found some really high quality earrings recently that I absolutely love. What I love about choosing items like this is that if you select really good quality items they will last you a life time. I have some earrings I purchased about a year ago that I haven’t taken out my ears yet! I recently got my helix pierced and again chose something that I knew would stand the test of time.
