I’m writing this on a Monday after what feels like a couple of weeks of rain. Joe has slowly started going back into this office and this is my second week of a ‘new routine’. It all feels a bit funny really, and I wanted to word exactly what’s in my mind and put a plan in place to help me just crack on.
Well, I won’t lie, Sunday evenings lead to what I can only describe as ‘Sunday Blues’. The thought of a full new week with currently little plans in the diary. So what am I going to do to combat this? Well here goes..
Walk more
When I first had Jasper, I used to walk around 2 hours a day. I literally wandered streets around my area and found new beautiful spots to stop and admire and it’s time to do that again but with Goldie. I’ve been doing this over a week now and it’s already helping me get a good routine in place to break up my days.
Ensure I’m hydrated
Seems so small doesn’t it? But when my head is a little scatty, the first thing to go is looking after myself. I can go a full day with forgetting to drink so it’s time to make sure I have a glass of water to hand at all times.
Keep up the hobbies
Whilst I do have work to do, I tend to push this to evenings right now as it was a little unrealistic to stop mid-work with Goldie. So hobbies will fill my days a little more and I’ll squeeze in the odd blog post (as I am now) during the day. Work can start on an evening when they’re in bed.
Listen to Podcasts
One of the biggest things that makes me feel anxious about new weeks is not speaking to anyone during the day. Whilst I can now make the odd plan with people, podcasts really will help fill my time a bit and it kinda feels like chatting to a friend doesn’t it? I love them.
What would you suggest I add into this routine?
