- 140g sugar
- 140g self-raising flour
- 2 bananas (the browner the better)
- 1tsp baking powder
- 50g chocolate chips
Method
- Set your oven to 180 degrees to preheat while you make your banana bread batter.
- Mash your bananas with the back of a fork or a potato masher, try and get as many lumps out as possible – nobody wants lumpy banana bread!
- Butter your chosen loaf tin or baking tray!
- Mix your sugar and butter together until it’s creamed and light in colour.
- Add your eggs to the sugar and butter mix and give it a stir.
- Slowly add your flour to the batter and mix as you go.
- Add in the mashed bananas, baking powder and chocolate chips – give the whole lot a good stir!
- Pour the batter into your tin and bake for 50 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.
- Leave to cool for at least half an hour.
- Enjoy!
