Tuscany is a sizable region in central Italy, and it’s a magnificent destination for a holiday, whoever and however you are travelling. It boasts wonderful cities and countryside alike and there are things to delight adults, kids, and everyone in between! If you’ve been thinking about a European trip but haven’t quite decided on where to go, do a little research into Tuscany, and see what you think.
Here are just three of the most wonderful places to visit in Tuscany:
Florence
If you know much about art, the chances are you’ve heard of the Uffizi – one of the world’s most impressive art galleries, bursting with fine examples of Renaissance art. The Uffizi can be found in Florence, and if you are interested in looking around, make sure you leave plenty of time to do so, as there is a lot to see!
If art isn’t you think, then rest assured that there is still plenty for you. Just wandering the beautiful streets of this city is enough to truly nourish the soul, and there is something interesting to discover around every corner.
Siena
Siena is the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll if you want to feel transported back to Medieval Italy. The city centre is completely closed off to traffic, making it a great place to explore and not have to worry about looking out for oncoming traffic at every turn – it also makes it feel like a safe place for a family trip that includes younger kids!
Pisa
Visit Pisa and see the iconic Leaning Tower, and then stay to experience some of the best aspects of Italian culture. You’ll find fine examples of Italian food and drink across the city, and it’s well worth having a taste as you sit back and people watch. A food and drink tour is something to consider in Pisa, as you’ll be able to experience the joy of Italian history and food all in one!
